o   The play ‘Listen to the Mountain’ by Kavery Nambisan open our eyes to ecological issues. It highlights the need for being conscious about our duties and responsibilities towards nature.

·         Teacher enters the classroom and establishes a rapport with the students. She exhibits a video of industrial pollution and generates a discussion on the same. She asks simple questions and elicits answers from students.

·         After asking questions teacher introduces the author in detail and then narrates the gist of the story to the whole class. The teacher exhibits the picture of Kavery Nambisan.

·        Gist of the story
·         All of us are responsible to protect our mother earth. Unfortunately we compete with one another to destroy our nature. This play of Kavery Nambisan is an eye opener to all who cause serious damage to the environment. The play is about the construction of a five star hotel on a mountain in the village of Dharmagiri. Do you like to know what happened later? Now read the first scene silently.
·        Silent reading by the learners
·         Teacher asks the learners to read the first scene silently without lip movement. She stress the learners to locate the answers to global comprehension questions. She then asks global comprehension questions.

·         Who are the characters in the play?
·         What is the setting of the play?
·        Reading in Pair
·         Teacher asks the learners to form pairs and read the first scene. She then motivates the learners to identify the word meaning of difficult words from the glossary.

·         Hobble: - walk in an awkward way typically because of pain from an injury.

·         The teacher exhibits the picture of a man walking with difficulty on crutches. She then generates a discussion on the same. She asks simple questions and elicits answers from students.
